Powerex is a Wellington based electrical contracting company that was
established in 2004 by Kerry Matthews to provide superior electrical solutions
and service to the building sector. Kerry could see a gap in the market that
electrical contractors weren’t filling, and set out to fill that gap. The main
objective was to provide unsurpassed service and above all unsurpassed value to
clients, with the aim of producing work that both Powerex and our clients were
proud of

We
cover a large range of technologies, so we not only have electricians, but we
also have people that are multi skilled. This has a distinct advantage for our
customers as our people can often undertake the work of many different trades,
thereby making the project management so much easier for our clients

What we do and how we do it . . .
Electrical contracting is our core business. We undertake electrical work for a
diverse range of clients ranging from government departments to retail outlets
to builders to home owners. We are at the leading edge of technology and can
therefore offer our clients unsurpassed product knowledge and advice.
Our
business is built on procedures; we find things run more smoothly when everyone
follows a process. We use quality job management software that allows us to
accurately price jobs, schedule the work flow and as the jobs are being
completed it keeps an accurate tally of materials and labour used verse
materials and labour quoted - therefore we get to see staff efficiencies and
quotation shortfalls in real time, enabling us to fine tune our procedures and
therefore perform to our clients highest expectations. This type of reporting is
critical in today's tight market
